The best way to enjoy a long weekend is with sunny days and that’s what we have. Hooray for being able to go outside and start tidying the overgrown space that is my garden! There’s plenty to do out there and I’m focusing on one task at a time while trying to ignore the next one until I’m ready.

I’ve finished stitching the binding on the quilt I showed you last week. It’s 162 cm square and made to be displayed on a wall in our living room. So, my next task is to figure out what fixings I’ll need to hang it. Having never lived in a house with plasterboard walls before (every other house has been double brick), it’s a new experience.

I’ve made a couple of small quilts to celebrate the autumn season. You can see one here and I’ll write about the other one next week.

My quilt featuring Liberty lawn prints is progressing. I’m using a pattern called Vintage Garden by Carolyn Adams of Washday Quilts. Mine is hand-pieced and coming together nicely.

I’ve just finished reading Bound by Murder by Laura Gail Black and enjoyed it immensely. I’ll write a review next week.

I was so grateful to learn that Mungo Man and Mango Lady will be finally reburied in the Willandra Lakes Region World Heritage Area. Read about it here.

I’m keen to read Ruth Wilsons book, The Jane Austen Remedy. She wrote about it here.

In my garden this week, it’s all about the camellias. This one is a cutie – look at those gorgeous little flowers! I’m fortunate to have about a dozen camellias in my garden. I wish I knew the names of them all - I like to talk to them by name 😊 – but I can still enjoy their nameless beauty.
