Greenhouse fail
The westerly winds have been roaring around many parts of eastern Australia this week, causing damage and power blackouts as trees were ripped from the ground and snapped branches sent flying through the air. The winds are milder today (only 35 km/h gusts - great for drying my washing) but are expected to increase up to 100 km/h as another front blasts through.
We’ve been fortunate, with my greenhouse and its contents the only casualty.
Oh dear. The greenhouse was ripped from the pegs (supposedly) anchoring it to the ground, tipped on its side and flung across the grass. It was only our fence that stopped it landing in a neighbouring backyard. All my baby seedlings were hurled out of their pots and spread across the backyard. Irredeemable.
So, I am trying to find a more protected location for it. We moved it to another spot but found it yesterday afternoon flattening one of my most precious camellias. I sense there will be more trial and error before I dare sow more seeds. Wish me luck.
